Dr. John Foland, DC
John Foland is a Chiropractic Physician (DC). He is originally from Ohio where he attended Walsh University and received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology pre-med. He moved to Oregon in 1997 to attend Western States Chiropractic College, where in four years he earned his chiropractic degree. He is currently licensed to practice in Oregon and Ohio. As a Chiropractic Physician, he enjoys treating people from all walks of life.
His primary course of treatment is Chiropractic manipulation. He also uses therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation, and soft tissue therapies. He is certified in the Graston Technique, which is a muscle therapy procedure that is helpful in decreasing muscle tightness, resolving scar tissue, and reducing muscle trigger points. He commonly treats conditions such as low back pain, hip pain, lower and upper extremity injuries, TMJ dysfunction, and headaches. Running related injuries are a specialty of his. He gives his patients stretches and exercises to aid in the healing and recovery process.
Dr. Foland has experience in treating various types of athletes. He has had the pleasure of working with people who are just starting an exercise program, up to Olympic-caliber athletes. He has worked on staff at various national track and field and cross country events. He has been running competitively since the age of 16 and has a 2:30 marathon as a personal best. Running for these years, coupled with the knowledge gained through his education, enables him to treat injuries properly and personally relate to how an injured athlete feels.
