Oregon Integrated Health would like to announce the newest addition to our Integrated Health Team - the Behavioral health counselor


Behavioral Health Counselors also known as BHC’s, are Licensed Counselors that specialize in managing physical health conditions, such as Diabetes, Weight Loss and Stop Smoking programs. BHC have been designed to work as part of the medical team directly working with your primary care physician.

Behavioral Health Counselors have been added to the Oregon Integrated team to help support each Primary Care Physician with the overall health of each patient.

Behavioral Health Counseling are Counselors, but are different from Mental Health Providers you would meet in the community. They have been Designed to work as part of the medical team directly working with your primary care physician. While they do have specialized degress in mental health issues they are also particularly skilled at managing physical health conditions.

Behavioral Health Counselors have the extra time on their schedules and same day availability to provide you with a listening ear, strategies to reach your goals, and ideas on ways to help decrease stress around related issues. They can see patients through both Telemed & In Clinic and appointments range from 15-30 minutes over 3-6 sessions before re-assessing with your PCP.

As part of the medical team a Behavioral Health Counselor may work with patients on health issues such as Diet, Exercise, Sleep, and Stress Reduction.
